One of the major reasons that the USA gov't (amongst others) are dilly-dally-dithering around this issue is because of the still very strong influence that the Christian (broadly) religion has on the leaders of the nation(s).  Just think, if it were to be absolutely un-denied/disclosed, then a lot of what the Christian religion (and probably the Jewish and Muslim religions as well) want their followers to believe would go out the window.

It would be very difficult to defend a belief that there is only one “savior” for humanity but that other (possibly related) species from different planets have got along for millions of years without needing to be “saved”.  So many of our beliefs about our existence on this planet would be trashed, that governance which has always depended on the MIGHT of the religions backing the governments, would be precarious, at best.

People don't take kindly to being lied to, especially if the lie has been going on for at least several generations, and maybe for a lot longer than that.  Da Vinci was aware of UFO's - they appear in some of his paintings, and I'm sure they influenced a lot of his thought toward flight.  I think the Bible may have inadvertently also made reference, but it is obscure and has also been molded and obscured in mythological (angelic) terms.

I know what I saw (felt, did) with my own several contacts, from age 11 thru early 30's - possibly longer, but those are not as clear as the earlier contacts.  I will not elaborate, except to say that I feel no threat to having the information the world governments have been concealing for at least two-thirds of a century brought out in the open, once and for all.  It is long overdue!  As a species on a planet we might have to “grow up” in one hell of a hurry - and that may actually be our salvation!

YESyesyes!!  We CAN.  There’s so much is going on! – such as the project called “Million Fax on Washington,” demanding formal government acknowledgement of extraterrestrial presence and access to ET technologies that could alter the course of global economic and environmental conditions. 
What especially make my heart sing are statements by Edgar Mitchell, a former NASA Apollo astronaut who walked on the moon.  He long has been stating that the U.S. government knows that UFOs exist and are extraterrestrial.  (During an ephiphany in space, Mitchell was engulfed by a profound sense of universal connectedness.  He said “the presence of divinity became almost palpable, and I knew that life in the universe was not just an accident based on random processes…. The knowledge came to me directly.”) 

In 1971 Mitchell created the Institute of Noetic Sciences, thriving and expanding here in the Bay Area, devoted to seeking a deeper understanding of consciousness (inner space) that could lead to a new and expanded view of reality – an extension of the cosmology of what we and this whole universe are about – that arrives at the conclusion that we neither are alone nor unrelated to all within the universe. 
And the heart of every atom within me was once a star?  Oh my heavens YES!! :-0

Seeing is believing and I've seen 'em, three times, once up close.
It wasn't my imagination, I had a friend with me and it scared the crap out of him. I just wanted to get closer but he was driving and wouldn't stop.

Well…yes it is. And there is a whole universe out there willing to help us. We just have to look closely, and listen. We are all one love, and nothing can keep us apart. :)
